• Under the Hawthorn Tree

  Our den you made my sister, dog chickens and me, we played for hours day after day jsut to take the moise and nasty mess away, arguements, arguements all the time. So as we played the noise seemed so far away under the little hawthorn tree. You just stood and watched us play and I remember a very special day, you tied a rope upon the gate and you taught us how to skate, we both feel down and how we laughed until we cried, again we pulled ourselves up on the rope until we learned how to float on our skates. We both went todwn the path ever so slow.

  Then one day you brouht home some slate from the pit for us to play hopscotch by our green gate.

  So now it's come and your gone away the terrible tragic day, because of you ain and suffereing the good lord said, suffer no more, come onto thee and rest your head under the little hawthorn tree.
