MARGARET ELIZABETH SPILLER Of 2 Alfred Jones place, Welshpool, formerly of School house Leighton, passed away peacefully on 27th March, aged 70 years. Margaret, widow of the late Henk Van Der Heyden was the eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Pryce Evans of Old Nantcribba, Forden. Margaret leaves two children, Elizabeth, Peter and Stepdaughter Alie. Margarets early years were spent teaching in Wolverhampton, Nantwich, and in the later years in the Welshpool area. Margarets interests were varied, ranging from her love of Art, Music and Outdoor activities; she also belonged to local groups including Severnside Painting Group, Buttington Operatic Society, Flower Club, Choral Society and Music Club. Margaret attended Forden Chapel, and in later years became a member of Welshpool Baptist church where she was involved in many activities, working particularly with the younger members and will be sadly missed by all. The Funeral Service took place at Forden Ebenezar Chapel on April 7th, and the service was taken by the Rev. Keith Fantham. The organist was Mrs Margaret Benbow and a tribute was given by Mr Roger Jary. Interment was at Forden Chapel cemetery. The bearers were Messrs Michael and Richard Poole, Derek Simms and Rob Prince. Ushers were Roger Jary, Mal Jones, Mark Chapman and Gary Ball. Family mourners were Elizabeth and Chris Rogerson, daughter and son in law; Peter and Ashley Van Der Heyden son and grandson; Alie and Henk, step daughter and son in law, rep. Angela; Becky, James and Adam, grandchildren; Kathleen and Keith Davies, Dorreen and David Roberts, Jenn and Glyn Rowlands, sisters and brothers in law. Also many family, friends and neighbours attended. Donations amounting to £1200 were given to Cancer Charities and Welshpool Baptist church. Thanks: Elizabeth, Peter and family are most grateful to Margarets many friends and family for their kindness and support during Margarets illness, attendance at the funeral, floral tributes and donations received. Special thanks to Mr Eddie Francis, Glyn and Yvonne for their help and support in carrying out the funeral arrangements.
